LEVAPAN

Injectable Solution

Composition:

Each ml contains: Levamisole Hydrochloride 118 mg. (Equivalent to Levamisole base 100 mg.)

Properties:

Levamisole is a broad spectrum anthelmintic. It acts by stimulating the parasympathetic and sympathetic ganglia in susceptible worms. At higher levels, Levamisole interferes with nematode carbohydrate metabolism by blocking fumarate reduction and succinate oxidation. The net effect is a paralyzing effect on the worm that expelled alive.
Levamisole has immunostimulating effects, but its mechanism of action is not well understood. It is believed it restores cell-mediated immune function in peripheral T-lymphocytes and stimulates phagocytosis by monocytes.
