Rafoxanide 7.5% Injection

Composition:

Each 1 ml contains: Rafoxanide…75mg.

Properties:

Rafoxanide is an effective anthelmintic against mature and immature liver flukes, blood sucking nematodes and tissue invading flies. It acts by disconnect the mitochondria reactions involved in the electron-transport-associated events from adenosine tri-phosphate generation. This uncoupling is lethal to these helminthes.

Indications:

FLUKANIL injection is indicated for the control and treatment of the following parasites in cattle, buffaloes, sheep and goats:
Mature and immature (more than 4 weeks) liver flukes infestation such as Fasciola hepatica and Fasciola gigantica. Blood sucking nematodes (especially those resistant to other anthelmintics) such as Haemonchus spp, Bunostomum spp, Trichuris spp and Oesophagostomum spp.
Larval stages of tissue invading flies such as cattle warble flies and nasal bot flies (oestrus ovis).

Dosage:

To be injected S/C only Cattle, buffaloes, sheep and goats:
1ml FLUKANIL Injection / 25 Kg.B.Wt (3 mg rafoxanide / Kg.B.Wt).

Contra-indications:
  • Not to be used for dairy animals.
  • Not to be injected intramuscularly or intravenously.
Warnings:

Do not inject more than 10 ml per each injection site.

Withdrawal Period:

28 days.

Storage:

Store tightly closed, in dark place below 30° C.

Packs:
  • 20, 50 and 100 ml sterile amber glass vials with outer label and insert in carton box.
  • 20, 50, 100, 250 and 500 ml transparent glass vials with outer label and insert in carton box.
